Echophon: New Work
Yancy Way, who goes by the name Echophon online, call himself an Experimental Designer. He has been featured in the pages of Cross Connect before, and is another in line of coders who have no formal art training but find themselves creating art. He grew up and works in the Pacific Northwest as a software test engineer and one day found himself in a class about generative art where he began making gifs. Yancy became hooked on the process, as may others have, and also began doing the ‘gif a day’ project as many others have. He has created a body of imaginative and often beautiful generative work.
