New Slains Castle - New Slains Castle belonged to the Hay family for 300 years! Redesigned in the 1830’s in Scots Baronial Style. It was sold in 1913 and de-roofed in 1925 to avoid taxes. It has been abandoned ever since.
It is said to have been the Castle inspiration for Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula, as he may have been a guest in 1895!
