You Can Swim to Your Room at this Mayan Inspired Design Hotel on Isla Holbox
A unique, eco-chic hotel on Mexico’s laidback Isla Holbox, Punta Caliza impresses with its stunning architecture, inspired by the Mayan structures across the Yucatan Peninsula.
It comprises a cluster of thatched-roof buildings made of red cedar and gleaming white limestone, wrapping around a triangular milky-emerald pool. Interiors are lofty and minimalistically outfitted to not distract attention from the magnificent structural design, and each wood-clad room has its own private plunge pool flowing into the main canal.
