U&Me Hotel Umeå
Located in a newly built complex by the river, in central Umea, U&Me is not your usual hotel. A vibrant indoor square, complete with restaurants and cafes, serves as lobby, and instead of the conventional front check-in desk, guests are greeted by airport style self-service kiosks.
The innovative establishment offers 162 city or river view rooms, and breakfast is served each morning in the artisan bakery across the square. Ranging from Small to XLarge, all high-tech units come with free Wi-Fi, personal desks, and complimentary toiletries. The suites boast separate seating areas, and creativity fueling touches such as blank music paper and typewriters come as standard.
Nevertheless, the hotel’s most revolutionary feature is its impressive collection of “add-ons”, which encourages guests to go beyond the hotel walls and immerse themselves in the local culture.
