Sebastian Bieniek born 1975 in Poland, is a German movie director, artist, photographer and author. Sebastian spent his childhood in Poland. At the age of 13, he and his family emigrated to Germany. His interest in art, specifically painting, began very early and he had participated in numerous exhibitions by the age of 20.
Bieniek majored in photography at Braunschweig College of Fine Arts and then studied for a Master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2002 began studies at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin.
In 2013 he completed his “Doublefaced” series which, subsequently has appeared in many publications around the world to great acclaim. It was chosen by Designboom magazine to one of the “Top 10 Body Art Of 2013" and by the Designcollector magazine to one of the “Top 2013 Photography”.
Sebastian Bieniek’s work is represented by the Yoshi’s Contemporary Art Gallery in Vienna, the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester, the Nicola von Senger Gallery in Zurich, the Lena Roselli Gallery in Budapest and the Limited Edition Gallery in Warsaw.
