Aston Martin has teamed up with Italian design-house Zagato to design Vanquish Zagato concept car. It’s the latest creation from these duos long-standing partnership, you can witness the global debut of this concept car at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, held at Lake Como in Italy from 21 – 22 May 2016.
As the fifth car to emerge from over 5 decades collaboration, Vanquish Zagato concept features sporting, dynamic, and the same material qualities with Zagato’s signature design language. Starting from iconic DB4 GT Zagato through V12 Vantage Zagato, each collaboration has features key aspects of Aston Martin’s design journey while blending them with Zagato’s own race-inspired design language. As you can see, the result is a group of four sports cars that demonstrates Aston Martin’s most avant-garde expressions.

Vanquish Zagato concept car features proportions that remain as Aston Martin pure essence, emphasizing a dynamic, forward looking stance. The bodywork is entirely constructed with carbon fiber, split lines on the body has been designed to avoid the use of one large-piece panels. There are new lights such as round tail light reflectors to evoke classic rear view of a Zagato design, this car also incorporates the same bladed LED technology just like Aston Martin Vulcan track-only supercar. Do you notice One-77 inspired wing mirrors? If you are a big fans of Aston Martin, you’ll also notice the similarity of the rear end with DB11’s aerodynamic profile, including retractable spoiler and rear hatch for easy access to the luggage compartment.
The roof of Vanquish Zagato features “double-buble” where its shallow radius dipping into the rear window glass to give this car an iconic rear silhouette. To match the bold new exterior, this car is equipped with V12 engine that’s been uprated to 600PS, also enhanced driving dynamics. For the interior, the seat and the door feature unique “Z” quilt pattern stitch.
