Vacuum has been designed as an urban furniture design. It focuses to the relationship between the people that live in same city, it is designed with “Living Memory Storage” for the city in mind. It aims to make people come together and hangout. Vacuum aims to create a social network all around the city using urban furniture design, it aims to create a ritual that supports the relationship between the people that live in the same city. It focuses to provoke the ‘City’s Soul’ and acts as a reminder of its existence.
Vacuum Network activates when people sit one of the Vacuum Chairs all around the city. When you sit on this chair, there would be a notification that tells ‘Join Vacuum Network’, then you can directly connected to the specialized Vacuum City Network. Sign Up or Facebook Log In is available, the system needs to know you to serve you better. It aims to bring something to talk or something to do for the people that don’t know each other. It uses the tastes, hobbies of the users to connect them with each other. It also includes thermochromic layers on the sitting surfaces, therefore, the people that sit on the same Vacuum Chair and if they’re logged into the Vacuum Web it changes colors based on the similarities and mutual interests. It can turn blue, green, red depending on the users’ casual similarities. The form of Vacuum was inspired by Anatolian Mevlevi Dervishes’ rituals, it is inviting with embracing philosophy and their revolutionary perspective.
