Combophotos by Stephen McMennamy

“Combophotos” is a project featuring clever pairs of pictures spliced into single images, playing with scal and often food in delightful ways. It’s the brainchild of Stephen McMennamy, a BBDO Atlanta creative director. It’s worth spinning through one of his pages: Instagram and Tumblrvia & via

Fabric Art of  Emilie Faïf

39-years-old visual designer from Paris, France, Emilie Faïf constructs textile sculptures that suggest the form of an object but leave the final imagining to the viewer.

I’ve always been immersed in the world of art since my mother was a painter, and my father was an architect and sculptor. My attraction to textiles is probably a legacy of my grandparents and great-grandparents, who worked as tailors. I think I combine all of these influences by blending ideas of space, sculpture, decoration and textiles together.

Haffner works primarily with a mixture of acrylic, marker, pencil and paint pen on wood panels to create vibrant neon depictions of Long Island landscapes from the viewpoint of roadways punctuated with power lines.

School Girls vs. Sweets & Stuffed Animals

Kazuhiro Hori (堀一浩) recently completed a group show, “Tengai 2.0” curated by Tenmyouya Hisashi. His works focus exclusively on depressed school girls languishing in strange worlds filled with cream, candy & menacing toys. He seems to be following a trend of Japanese artists, such as Aida Makoto & Shintaro Kago who are debasing school girls as modern symbols of Japan.
