Thierry Urbain is an European photographer educated at Saint-Étienne School of Fine Arts, France. His works focus on the desert, archeology, and ancient architecture of the desert. He starts with ideas of adventurers and archaeologists scouring the ancient tombs and burial sites in the vast deserts of North Africa and the Middle East. His works is romantic, and in some regards fictionalized. The idea of vast spaces of desert, punctuated by monumental stone buildings with cool interiors hiding secrets of long lost societies - that is what he seems to be trying to capture.
