The ‘Spirotechnics’ of Paul Wintz
Paul Wintz is an engineering student from Santa Barbara, California. Two years ago, he began his project which he calls ‘Spirotechnics’. He was learning how to program from Khan Academy, and was curious what would happen if you could put a Spirograph within another Spirograph. The answer he found was not disappointing. He realized there are an infinite amount of possible ‘Spirotechnics’ that can be created just by varying the radius and speed of each circle. Most settings create a tangled mess, but as you see, the results are beautiful when the parameters align correctly.
