Candid and Nostalgic: The Photography of Jess Gough
London based photographer Jess Gough (b. 1989) has been putting life to 35mm film since 2009, with a portfolio that is filled with countless, beautifully candid and nostalgic photographs. Jess’ works have been published in Holy Ghost Zine, Waterfall Magazine, and several issues of Dazed & Confused Magazine.
“…For me it is 99% about that split second when my eyes clock something and my hands scramble for my camera, flick it on, position it and press the shutter. The whole photo-taking process is always kind of manic for me, especially if there’s amazing light. I freeze up, and get this anxiety almost that the image is going to vanish right in front of me if I don’t act fast enough. So I go a little mental in my head, basically.”
