Ben Hassett: Minimalist Beauty Photography

Despite only ever using three or four colors to comprise his shots—a technique he calls “color monochrome"—Ben Hassett has managed to ascend rather quickly to the top of the world of beauty photographers. It is this simplicity and attention to detail that Hassett has honed into his signature style, catapulting him to fame as “the [Irving] Penn of his generation”, or so says German Vogue.

His work can be found in such publications as Harper’s Bazaar, L'Express Styles, W Magazine, Numéro, GQ, Allure, Vogue Japan, Vogue Paris, Vogue China and—last but not least—Vogue Germany. In addition to his editorial work, he has also shot advertising campaigns for clients such as Anteprima, Pringle of Scotland, Dior, Lanvin, and Givenchy.
