German treasure chest from the 30 years war

Grandfather found an old treasure chest from the 30 years war (1618-1648) in an abandoned church-ruin when he was young, and somehow found the keys for it years later in an auction (IIRC). He left the treasure chest and the keys to me after he passed away.

This ornament on the chest is fake and can be moved to the left, which then will loosen one of the metal bands wrapped around the chest, to reveal the lock.
