Food Machine Project Can Be Accessed from Anywhere In The World

Exploring the food preparation, this is one of the main goals of Food Machine project. We received this design submission from Peter Johansson Kukacka, together with his other friends: Christian Isberg, Lasse Korsgaard, and Carl Berglöf, they want to get deeper understanding on how food interact, thus, resulting in a digital platform that acts as a framework for the discussion.

This digital platform is connected with a physical machine that translates digital dialogue to a form of input, the input comes from those who contribute to the project and later processed by the machine. There are 5 chefs who participate in this project, using their own computers, they create a dish together. Basically, they cook from different places and make one dish together, this machine is built for that purpose with unique interface. They can choose ingredients, temperature, flavors, textures, and variety of spices.

There are 35 different functions/ingredients which have been carefully selected through a collaboration with the chef Carl Berglof. Each one has its own purpose, therefore, participants can use the functions of the machine to mix ingredients in a pot. This project researches on how different people given the framework respond to other’s decisions during collaborative and interaction in the making of the food.
