Navia Self-Driving Electric Shuttle Car Is A Great Alternative to Public Transports in Urban Areas

Navia Self-Driving Electric Shuttle Car is the result of partnership between Induct Technology and Switzerland’s Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). It is said that Navia is world’s first automated electric shuffle car that offers eco-friendly alternative to public transports or private cars in urban areas. This vehicle can accommodate up to 8 passengers with a maximum speed of 12.5mph, it’s been designed as a complement to conventional transportation.

This robotic transportation is equipped with laser telemetry, GPRS, and sensors that detect its acceleration and rotation around all 3 axes (to and from, side to side, up and down). In this way, it can instantly calculate its position, route, and distance traveled. It has the ability to analyze every information in real time such as route, location, and obstacle, it carries the passengers in complete safety and drive them to the place they want to go without problems.

Coral Gables Residence by Touzet Studio

Touzet Studio have designed the Coral Gables residence in Miami, Florida.

Description from Touzet Studio:

The client for this house is a pioneer in the technology field and a committed modernist. The project is located on a waterfront site in Coral Gables, facing east, with views across Biscayne Bay to Downtown Miami and the barrier islands of Key Biscayne. The City of Coral Gables has a prescriptive zoning code that favors historical “styles” over contemporary design. This apparent conflict between our client’s fantasy of a modern home and the City’s classically-oriented design code informs the design. The “City-side” façade presents itself as two restrained stone-clad volumes – a “mask” clad in material very much identified with the architecture of Coral Gables. The lower volume is rough-hewn Florida Keystone and the larger, main volume is clad in honed Simena limestone. The mask is penetrated by only two openings on the western façade and a “frieze” of windows above. Even the sculptural roof is hidden from view of the street. The true nature of this house is expressed on the water side of the house – in the private realm where fantasies for a soaring roof and materials belonging to the present could be expressed. The City requirements of a sloping tiled roof were re-interpreted into a series of sloping planes that are floating above glass clerestories. Glass walls hold up the sculptural roof – which provide shade and protection to the extensive outdoor terraces.

Koala Digital Scale Design That Focuses On Space Efficiency

In general, scales are placed on the floor to be stored and used. And the space where the scale is put is good as a dead space when the scale is not being used. KOALA digital scale adopts the principle of roly-poly to make it stand automatically when not in use, allowing you to make use of more space without having to move it to store it separately.

When you don’t use the scale, you can position it to always stay standing to enhance your space and eliminate the need to keep it in another place. When you want to use the scale, simply press down the top part of the scale with your foot laying it on the floor, and then step on it to weigh. Once you’re done, step down, and Koala digital scale will rise up into a standing position.
