The Art of Dan Quintana

Dan Quintana is a self-taught Los Angeles-based artist who paints eerie, goddess-like figures immersed in figurative and ethereal worlds. His work often channels the great Dutch and Flemish masters. The extensive time spent on each figure is apparent, as their staggering precision grips one’s attention in an instant.

Jake Fried: Painter, Animator

Note:  The artwork above is edited gif clips of the work of Jake Fried. To see the full length and full motion video with sound, visit his website.

Jake Fried started as a painter, then became an animator.  He initially animated his paintings and collages by hand, but has recently been creating them with software. He is a teacher at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and also the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  His animations have been used in commercials and the opening of television shows and his short films have won many awards. His work is chaotic and beautiful and has relentless energy in which imagery flows from one frame to the next in the most amazing way.
