Installations by Pamen Pereira

Pamen Pereira is a contemporary and multidisciplinary artist born in Ferrol, Spain in 1963.

Her interdisciplinary work moves around sculpture, installation and sometimes photography or video, or just anything unrelated that is useful for specifying the creative act. Without leaving the solitude of the workshop as a place of reflection and study where she meets the most intimate, her current work focuses on site-specific installations and interventions, which defends the important function of the poetic image for society and, this way, art’s social character.

Surreal and Captivating - Photography by Mária Švarbová

Mária Švarbová is a Slovenian photographer whose work is difficult to categorize.  Much of her work has a surreal quality.  She explores qualities of isolation and loneliness, which often gives her models an alien quality.  See our previous post of Mária Švarbová’s work. To see more of  Mária check out her Instagram and Behance.  Thanks to Pics In Pics.

The Franklin Hotel

Spread across four redbrick Victorian houses in Knightsbridge, London, The Franklin is a seductive design forward property envisioned by none other than Anouska Hempel, founder of the world’s first boutique hotel.

Rich and decadent, the rooms envelope guests in sophisticated comfort, with lavish Italian fabrics, mirrored furnishings, and sumptuous four-poster wrought iron beds dressed in Frette linens. Some units have lovely views of Egerton Gardens’ manicured lawns or a sexy bathtub, and all feature sleek Apple TVs.

The hotel’s stylish, intimate restaurant proposes an exquisite Italian menu created by Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo, and the nearby bar serves 22 different types of gin along with delicious champagnes, martinis, and small bites. Another spectacular feature is the hotel’s gleaming Hammam, where guests can indulge in a variety of luxurious treatments.

Artist: Joram Roukes

Born 1983 in the Netherlands. Joram Roukes just finished his mural in Kaka'ako, Hawaii for POW! WOW! Hawaii 2017. This is a great occasion to make a small retrospective of his work. His large oil paintings are build-ups or collages of characters. Blending multiple stylistic elements and references to subcultural groups or popular culture intricately in comprehensive and colorful compositions.
