5 Ways to Free up iCloud Storage on Your iPhone

iphone

It’s such a frustrating thing for iPhone users, especially 16GB iPhone users to meet the “Not enough storage” issue when they use iCloud for further backup.

If iPhone users run out of iCloud storage, their device won’t backup to iCloud. New photos and videos won’t upload to iCloud Photo Library. iCloud Drive and other iCloud apps won’t update across their devices. They aren’t able to send or receive messages with their iCloud email address.

Therefore, it’s necessary for people to learn how to free up iCloud storage on their iPhone/iPad.

1. Delete Old iCloud Backups

When you backup your iPhone to iCloud, the most important data on your device, like documents, photos, and videos, etc. will be backed up automatically. You can delete backups and turn off Backup for your device. Please note that if you choose to delete the iCloud backup for your iOS device, iCloud will stop automatically backing up the device. Instead of backing up your iOS device to iCloud, you can back up your device using iTunes.

1. Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage.
2. Under iCloud, tap Manage Storage.
3. Tap the name of your device.
4. Tap Delete Backup > Turn Off & Delete.

2. Reduce the Size of iCloud Photo Library

If you use iCloud Photo Library, you can free up your iOS device’s storage by deleting photos and videos that you don’t want to store on your device all the time. After deleting, you can recover the deleted photos and videos from your ‘Recently Deleted album’ for 30 days.

If you want to remove content from your Recently Deleted album faster, tap Select, then select the items you want to remove. Tap Delete > Delete. If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, your device immediately removes any photos and videos you delete and they won’t be available for recovery in your Recently Deleted album.

3. Reduce the Size of Photo Library

If you don’t use iCloud Photo Library, your Camera Roll will be part of your iCloud backup. To check the size of the backup on your device in iOS 8 or later, tap Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage. (If you’re using an earlier version of iOS, tap Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage.) Then tap the name of your iOS device. The backup size is under Photo Library.

You can transfer photos and videos to PC  and delete them on iPhone to reduce the size of your Photo Library backup, then back up your iOS device manually. If you want to keep the photos and videos on your iOS device, just turn off Photo Library in Backup with the steps mentioned. And just delete those unnecessary photos.

4. Delete Emails in Your iCloud

You can also delete email messages from your iCloud email account to free up and manage iCloud storage space. If you have some important emails, you can also move email messages from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or PC, where they no longer count against your iCloud storage. Use the steps below to delete messages from your account.

If your iPhone is configured to access iCloud email, you can delete messages from any mailbox, then empty the Trash to free up space:

1. Swipe left across any message to delete it.

2. Tap your Trash folder.

3. Delete messages one at a time or delete all of them by tapping Edit, then tapping Delete All.

Method 5. Upgrade Your iCloud Storage Plan

Apple only provides free 5GB for iPhone users. If 5GB for free is not nearly enough for you, you can buy more.

Apple offers three choices for you. 50GB, 200 GB and 1 TB costing $0.99, $2.99 and $9.99 respectively for one month.

Tap on Setting > iCloud > Storage, then you can tap on Buy More Storage and choose the plan that works for you.

4 Hacks to Increase the Resale Value of your Car

Sale a Car

Having a personal car has its own pleasure. The connection of a man with his car cannot be communicated in words; the agony of any scratch on the vehicle is difficult to overcome for a long time. In any case, separation is a part of life and your car is not an exemption from it.

Finding a substitute for your existing vehicle will undoubtedly be a daunting task both emotionally and financially because purchasing another car is not as simple as buying a new suit. Your outgoing car can financially contribute to making it less demanding for you to buy another vehicle to drive by fetching you a satisfactory price. However, for getting the value which you speculate for its offering from its new buyer, it is essential that the state of your car is immaculate and that it is well equipped.

When you get into the used car market to sell for your current vehicle, keep in mind that for its buyer it is something new and exciting and consequently he expects the vehicle to be in great condition.

1. Refurnishing It

As referred above when you sell a car, it is the first car for its new owners and therefore he expects that everything in his car should be in good condition. Despite proper maintenance, a little mistake might depreciate the value of your car. Therefore before you sell your car, it would be better to get it properly serviced and get the defects properly detected by an expert mechanic.

If there is any need of replacing an accessory from your car, it will be better to fit with a new set. This practice will prove to be fruitful while selling your car as the new buyer will also get it checked before paying the amount demanded.

Although mechanical factors contribute in determining the performance of any car, but still if you keep yours clean and maintained properly without any dents and scratches, it will grab the attention of buyer at the first instance.

Here, it should be remembered that looks of car matter not only for the exteriors but also inside the cabin. You should make sure that all items including power windows, music system, air conditioner system, and all other equipments are working properly.

7 Energy Saving Tips to Cut Down Your Home Heating Bills in Winter

man-caulking-window

The heating bills can increase as winter approaches. It’s possible that the heating bills get out of a hand and disturb your entire budget. But, the heating bills don’t have to be too high. You need to take a trip to your house and check if any problems are causing high heating bills. There are simple practices that can help you save money while keeping the house warm and cozy.

Here are some easy tips that will keep your house warm while maintaining the heating bills in check as well.

1. Make Sure Weather-Stripping is in Good Condition

If the weather-stripping around the doors is torn then, cold air can quickly enter the house. About 7 to 12 percent of heat loss of the home happens because of the space around the doors and windows. The leaks often force the homeowners to turn up the heat so that the house is comfortable. They cause warm air to escape and the furnace has to work extra hard to maintain a warm temperature. The weather-stripping needs to be replaced after a few years so that they can efficiently stop the cold air from entering the house.

2. Avoid Having Any Drafts Around Electrical Boxes

The electrical boxes which are present in exterior walls, are drafty because their insulation is not always correctly installed in the boxes. You can stop the leaks by removing the cover plates and filling small gaps with acrylic latex caulk. If the holes are large, then you can use a foam sealant. It will help in saving a lot of money and keep your home comfortable. It is just a small investment which is going to be very profitable in the long run.

3. Fill The Gaps in Exterior Wall

The areas where the pipes, electrical cables, and gas lines enter the house have gaps around it. These holes are often filled haphazardly with some caulk. But if the caulk is not high quality, it will crack and will eventually fall off. The gaps provide a passageway to the cold air, and it enters the house. You can prevent the outside air to enter the room by filling the gaps with expanding foam. By doing so, you will see a considerable decrease in the heating bills.

4. Benefits of Having A Portable Heater

You can lower the temperature of the furnace and put a portable heater in a place where family sits together. The temperature of rest of the house will be higher, but the living room will be warm and cozy. It will help in lowering the heating cost by about three percent. You will have to buy the heater but it is not very expensive, so the initial cost is balanced by the saving you will achieve in the heating bills. You can also look to compare the rates of services on platforms such as georgia natural gas prices.

5. Lower Heat Loss with Cost-Effective Plastic Film

Windows play a significant role in the overall heat loss of the house. You can prevent it by covering the windows with plastic film. It is a very effective way of decreasing the heat loss. The plastic film is also pretty cheap, so if it gets damaged, you can easily replace it. It won’t have any adverse effect on the trim of the windows, and you can quickly take it off as winter wears off.

6. Do Not Forget to Insulate The Attic Access Door

You may have insulated the attic completely but if the access door is not covered, it will let the warm air escape. It is important to make sure that the door is also covered so that there is no escape route for the hot air to get out of the house. You can use an adhesive and attach insulation known as the fiberglass batt to seal the door properly.

7. Keep The Thermostat Up to Date

You can save a lot on heating bills by using a programmable thermostat. It can automatically turn down the temperature when you are not at home or sleep, etc. They are not too expensive, and they are responsible for cutting the bills by ten percent or more. Buying a smart thermostat is an excellent way of saving on the heating bills.

These are some of the highly efficient and affordable ways to ensure that the heating bills do not get out of a hand.

Did you Know that You can Get Pregnant During your Period?

Pregnancy is one thing that frightens some women while others cherish it. It is a great phenomenon of the “Creator” who has blessed women with the power to give birth to another human being. This marvelous process is a genius creation and quite amazing how an egg gets fertilized and the rest of the processes take place, the gestation period starts, symptoms become quite visible and at the end of the gestation period, the delivery of the child takes place. Well, this seems a normal process to some but it’s a process that involves physical as well as emotional sentiments.

Can you get pregnant on your period?

Think of a woman who does not want to be pregnant for some time but unfortunately gets pregnant so what should she do? Should she abort the child? What if a woman who wants a child and gets pregnant but due to some abnormality the child does not grow and forces the mother to abort.

There is a story behind every pregnancy because all women have their priorities and plan for their to-be child. So there are numerous inquiries women ask their Gynae and some weird questions as well, like the most common question that is “can you get pregnant on your period?

Many women find themselves in dilemma over the topic because they might misinterpret the symptoms their body is showing while the actual reasons may be different and there are chances that she might actually be pregnant. So what is the truth behind this? Lets us find out:

Well, the answer to this question is “YES” a woman can get pregnant if she had sex during her period. Want to know the reasons then read below to get your facts right.

The menstrual cycle

The menstrual cycle is defined as the loss of blood that occurs at the end of the ovulatory cycle, because of the result of an egg not being fertilized by a sperm. Every month women tend to release an egg on approx. 14th day of her cycle. Before releasing the egg the hormone levels in a woman increases (thicken) to prepare the uterus lining if in case the egg is fertilized and pregnancy takes place. If fertilization does not occur, the lining of the uterus is sloughed off about 14 days later. This is Menstrual Cycle that most women know.

The duration of periods in most women extends from 2 days to eight days and occurs every 26 to 34 days. Ovulation generally takes place midway through the cycle and is the most fertile time in a woman’s menstrual cycle. Ovulation is a process when an egg is released from one of your ovaries. At this time the woman is most likely to conceive. The whole process is complex and hard to understand as a woman cannot track it.

A very short menstrual cycle

There are certain circumstances that need to be right to make this happen. A woman to get pregnant on her periods needs to have a very short menstrual cycle, which is generally the time from the 1st day of one period to the 1st day of the next period, or this can happen if a woman has long periods. Conception is likely to take place when sperm and egg meet in the fallopian tube.

Assuming that you have 28-day cycle of periods than between the 12th and 16th days the egg reaches maturity in one of the two   ovaries. The egg is then released into the abdomen and gets sucked by the tulip-shaped opening of the nearest fallopian tube. The egg can survive for about 24 hours after its release and if there is a sperm present in the fallopian tube at that time, it can fertilize the egg and lead to pregnancy. And if the egg does not get fertilized it gets out during the period.

This problem is more likely to happen with a woman who has a short menstrual cycle like 22 days. Because of this, they tend to ovulate just a few days after their period ends. And because the sperm can survive for up to six days and in between she has sex during her period, it is more likely that the sperm may still be present when she ovulate and fertilize the egg.

So the next time you think you are pregnant, do some self-check and find out. If this does not help, contact your Gynae. Your body is complex and so do its various processes.

Five Tips to Ensure Online Dating Success After 60

seniour

You want to meet someone and have decided to go online. That is proactive, forward-thinking, and a very great move, but care must be taken not to fall into habits that will spoil your dating experience- especially if you are an older person. Studies show that senior online dating is increasing daily and also that seniors tend to have better date choices than younger people. However, studies also reveal a lot of challenges online daters commonly face that result in bad dating experiences. Keeping these tips in mind will help a great deal.

1. Never go “Wow!” over the pictures.

While on the internet, it’s very easy to feel in control and maintain very high expectations. The feeling of being in control is wonderful and anyone would confess that it makes them feel powerful, but you have to fight it- especially as an older person.

If what you desire is a true connection- a true relationship with a person whom you love and who loves you in return, you must bring your most empathetic and mature self into the dating adventure. This probably is the reason why seniors often make better choices in online dates and why senior online dating sites are experiencing more success compared to other online dating sectors.

This simply means not saying, “Wow, she is gorgeous but I prefer blondes to brunettes.” You wouldn’t behave this way sitting across from this person, so don’t do it online. What you need is happiness, so go for it!

2. Avoid being obsessed about details.

Your focus shouldn’t be on which movies they like, bars they frequent, schools they attended, or restaurants they visit. If what you want is true happiness and you intend genuine love, your focus should be on where he or she lives, whether or not he or she seems intelligent, and whether or not he or she has similar interests. Don’t be deceived into believing that someone out there exactly suits your preferences.  Instead, focus on the most important and desired traits. What’s most important is the profile tone, and evaluating it should be your focus. If you can evaluate the profile tone (which may seem difficult), you may have a better chance of guessing what the person is like even without profile images or meeting him or her in person.

If you focus on trivial things, there is the chance you will pass over the profiles of people who could actually make you happy. Finding a genuine relationship is about how you both understand your differences, yet meet each other’s desires. The key to this is reading between the lines to get a clear understanding of the person. Is he or she well-adjusted, reasonable, friendly- a person to whom you would be naturally attracted if you were to meet him or her in person without regard for movie tastes, books, and restaurants?

Never ignore signs of bitterness, boastfulness, and insincerity. You can easily detect if someone is insincere if there are any claims of perfection! Everyone has flaws, and claims of perfection in many areas is a warning sign. Also beware of a person whose profile states, “My friend did it and suggested I have the same experience so I took it on”.

3. Mind personality claims.

Most explicit claims about a person’s personality should be ignored. People are very unreliable when reporting about themselves, and understanding this will save you a lot of trouble. People who ignore warning signs about personality claims in profiles have bitter stories to tell about online dating. Claims about oneself may not always be lies, but the way people see themselves is frequently different from how others see them. It’s best to meet people and confirm their claims before putting confidence into those claims. Keep in mind that we humans are expert “self-justifiers” and only external events can really reveal negative traits. Am I right? The only claims worth believing are age, education, location, and job. When it comes to self-evaluation, people are biased and self-aggrandizing.

4. Don’t get too attached when judging a profile.

You may have evaluated a profile but that’s not all. No matter how great you are at evaluating profiles or how great a person seems to match your tastes, there is still lots more to know about him or her. You can learn only a little from a profile, but you can learn much from behavior: the tone of voice, eye contact, how responsively and beautifully they smile, how attentive they are during discussions, how and what they say about themselves, how they ask questions, and so much more. Never ignore the fact that vital information is only disclosed by people when they are relaxed and in a good mood. Your goal shouldn’t be to look for the perfect person that suits your taste but to have fun with the possibility of meeting your match.

5. Don’t move too fast.

It’s never advisable to do this. However, there is a greater chance of moving too fast in online dating. It is a big temptation. “His profile says he needs a relationship. Would he even be on a dating site if he were not really serious? I have gotten to know so much about him/her even though we’ve met only once. What am I waiting for?” Getting impatient with dating and moving too fast in a relationship is the worst thing you can do. After a few dates you are still getting to know this person while growing the connection. Getting attached too soon can scare off your date or dampen your budding relationship. Note: It’s difficult when you badly want to have a connection with someone, but getting to know another person takes time, so take the time.

5 Simple Ways to Get Rid of Stress and Relax Completely

feet-932346_1920

When was the last time you had a quality time dedicated to relaxing? The modern age we are living in forces us to spend more time at work, and since one day has only twenty-four hours, the contemporary “average Joe” chooses to renounce relaxing time in favor of work. Stress is on the rise for the past decade, and according to several statistics, around 80% of workers today are exposed to this condition.

Of course, there is an option to avoid stressful situations, but rather often, this is not possible. Stress is eating us from the inside out and makes our lives miserable if we let it take over. Still, devoting some time of the day to immerse yourself into relaxation is a good solution to battle stress, calm your nerves, and make you feel better.

The only important thing is, that you need to schedule that time and prioritize it. Don’t avoid it – it’s time for you to start caring about yourself.

Cancel all of your obligations tonight, and organize a relaxing and stress-relieving time.

When is a good time to relax?

coffee-1565397_1280

Basically, any time can be determined for this. In general, I recommend the evening, or at least sundown when the city life is slowly losing its pace. There is also this soothing feeling, coming from the absence of daylight, which will help you to unwind while your body triggers the relaxing mechanism as it prepares to go to sleep.

On the other hand, if there is no possibility to separate some time for yourself in the evening, daytime is also suitable. Just remember to cover your windows. The color of the sheets covering the windows should not be aggressive, such as red or orange; choose a calming color such as cream or purple. It will bathe your room in butter-shaded color and calm you.

For a start, put some relaxing tunes on, and set up the atmosphere. Luckily, the Internet is full of meditation tunes which can be used for free. Find the one which reflects your mood and suits you best.

1. Wash away the stress

shower-1502736_1920
Simple lying on the couch and resting is a good practice in the prepared scenery. But, to relax and shake down all of that stress, you must do something prior enjoying in your peaceful oasis. Start with a warm bath, scented with a few drops of essential oils. There is one simple rule that must be followed – don’t think about anything. Concentrate on the warm sensation of water on your skin.

This will help you not just to relax your muscles, but the clear your mind as well. Try to endure as high temperature of the water as possible, but be careful not to burn yourself. Hot water can help your blood course faster, making muscles supplied with oxygen more efficiently, and thus more relaxed.

In case that you have chosen the shower over a bath tub, there is an Eastern wisdom about meditation which can suit perfectly to this situation. The feeling of your worries being washed away can be achieved if you focus on your senses. In order to improve this state, try closing your eyes.

2. Relaxing your body even further

woman-506120_1280

After the relaxing bath, some people have the energy to do the things they like, and some people want to go even deeper. Many turn to sleeping, the body’s natural regenerating mechanism. It is ok, but today we’re here to reach the deeper levels of relaxation. To get there,  a massage is the next step.

Since this is a guide for relaxing in your home, you’ll either order a masseuse to come to your house or get a massaging chair. If you are lucky enough to possess this wonderful chair, you just strap in and hit “play.” The speed, pace, and intensity are not universal, so you will need to experiment, and to see which mode suits you the best.

Another add-on for ambient and overall improvement is scented sticks. Those can be bought anywhere, and the choice of the type of scent is left to you. However, pine, lavender, and bergamot are good to start with. Their primal purpose is to enhance meditation and give you additional focus, but the purpose of relaxing is also notable.

3. Being creative

painting-911804_1280

The next thing might be your favorite and possibly forgotten hobby. We all have that one thing we used to do daily, but we simply lack the time (willingly or unwillingly) for it. Whether that be calligraphy, maintaining your mini Zen garden, or playing an instrument, there is only one rule; do it.

Again, it is not the point of creating wonderful pieces of art; it is about you doing something that makes you happy. If you do not have any hobby, I recommend you to try painting. It is easy, and there are no rules or limitations. You do as you please, and quite often, being creative will make you feel better. Painting has a psychological effect of relaxation.

Research results published by the Society for Personality and Social Psychology are stating that people’s perspective can be changed if we practice hobbies on a daily basis. It might seem like a long-term goal, but you have to start somewhere, right?

4. Have a delicious meal

pasta-1463934_1280
A perfect relaxation isn’t complete without a proper meal. Regarding the type of food you like and if you like to prepare it yourself, get your food ready and waiting. We all love pizza, of course, but as I said, take it a bit further.

Italian food is rather easy to prepare, and since it utilizes light ingredients such as pasta and chicken meat, it will not make you feel heavy after eating. One of my favorites is definitely Cauliflower Penne Puttanesca, a light, vegetarian pasta, which requires about 25 minutes to prepare.

Of course, this exquisite meal should be paired with the matching wine, and if you can obtain a bottle of Villa Bucci’s Riserva, Verdicchio dei Castelli from 2009, it will be simply put, perfect. Wine is a somewhat sensitive drink, so it should be cooled to exact temperature (around 15°C). Luckily, there are many wine coolers & fridges which can do this for you. As a good wine enthusiast, I’m sure you already have a cooler. If not, consider having one.

5. The end of the night

girl-1733352_1920

After a good meal, you can spend the rest of the evening as you like. Personally, I love to take another round of easy massage while watching a movie or a TV show. In general, avoid watching TV while eating, because you won’t enjoy it as much.

Also, a good book is a great suggestion, and whether that be something new, such as “The Wright Brothers” by David McCullough, or something more classic, like Shakespeare or Charles Dickens, the decision is yours. After reading, you can go to sleep, satisfied and happy; after all, you did something wonderful for yourself.

Spare some time for yourself every week

coffee-break-1291718_1920

It is not as much about the bathing, the wine, and food, as it is about YOU doing something you are not doing every day. After an evening spent like this, you will finally see the world as it really is, beautiful, colored and sparkly.

But you did not change it, you simply swept away the heavy clouds of every day stress and troubles, and this enthusiasm is really contagious. The next thing you will want to do is to prepare a similar evening for your loving person, knowing how good it feels. Always have the time for yourself!

Beware Of These 7 Common Traps! They Can Weaken Your Power Of Persuasion

pexels-photo-57825

The power of persuasion can be an extremely powerful tool when it is individually mastered to its fullest potential. It could affect whether you’re able to clinch that dream job after the interview or make that million dollar sale after hours of convincing a customer.

How to be more persuasive

Although you look dashingly smart and eloquent, unfortunately, focusing too much on how you present your pitch instead of whether what’s being said makes sense or not, will not be a boon for your power of persuasion. However, having said that, being presentable is still an important element to be persuasive but its importance is being superseded by having a clear, logical and irrefutable argument.

If you’re looking for concrete solutions on how to be more persuasive, here are 7 fallacies you should stop committing as they can weaken your power of persuasion.

1. Exaggerating Opposing Ideas

When debaters deploy this technique, what they’re actually trying to do is to undermine the credibility of the opposing idea by making the opponent seem extreme. For example in an everyday context, you might choose to omit certain facts of what’s actually been said in a heated argument between you and your partner. By saying that your partner hates kids when he or she merely just wants to shelve that plan to build a more secure future before the baby comes is a fine example.

By exaggerating, not only would you undermine your own credibility in the argument, you are also jeopardising the strength of your future arguments in the debate.

2. Taking It Too Personal

Debates or arguments might sometimes get so heated up, you might think it’s fine to take a swing at something personal. For example, by calling someone a crafty and untrustable person just because they look like one, only presents a weak argument from your side.

As much as possible, refrain from getting too personal but instead, argue against the idea, not the person.

3. Using Fear Tactics Without Evidence

We’d like to believe that appealing to the sense of fear would get our arguments across easily. Yes, it is worth looking at how to be more persuasive because when our audience is struck with fear, they’re susceptible to believing extreme claims of what can happen if they’re not willing to accept the argument. But that is only if these claims are backed with evidence.

Nothing would destroy your credibility faster than fabricating or exaggerating on facts and having your audience see through those lies.

4. Appeal To Ignorance

When you dismiss something to be untrue, it doesn’t mean that the opposite is true either. For example, you can’t say that the iPhone is the best smartphone in the world just because Samsung may not be considered the best since there have been instances where their phones exploded. There are other phones out there that are on par with the iPhone.

By choosing to ignore hard facts and going straight to validate a claim, not only are you showing people how shallow your depth of knowledge is, you’re also making yourself vulnerable to a strong counter-attack.

5. Using The Majority

By using the majority to back up a claim and to say that it is something “accepted” by many, is one of the fallacies we commonly use in our arguments. Like most of the argument fallacies we commit, laying claim to something that is accepted by the masses, when it clearly isn’t, would only spell trouble for your arguments.

If you’re a computer salesman for example, and you convince the customer that the computer is well received by the masses, only for them to find out otherwise later, then your credibility will be tarnished and you definitely won’t have them coming back to you.

6. Using Flowery Anecdotes

Using anecdotes can definitely put a point across as it helps to put things into perspective. But when you replace hard data with flowery anecdotes that don’t even hold water then people will start to think that you’re just full of hogwash.

Anecdotes such as praising oneself have a weak argument to it. For example, coming back to being a salesperson; if you’re trying to convince a customer by telling him or her that you’ve been very honest and that many people have bought the product and believed in it, chances are, you’re not going to get far with that argument simply because you don’t have the evidence to back that claim up.

7. Overgeneralising

Overgeneralizing and stereotyping are keys to failure. By judging a person or something based on one bad experience, you are only showing how ignorant you are to omit the good that’s been experienced by others.

For example, by saying that China makes sub-par products based on just one bad experience only makes for a lacklustre argument.
