The Mesmerizing Animations of @xavieralopez

Xaviera López is a Chilean artist and animator who is fascinated with video, animation, and loops.

“I like to learn and improve as much as possible, and I believe creativity is my soul work. In my work I show the process through which I figure things out, which is not always pleasant and that´s why some of my animations can be unsettling. To me, this is a visual journal, a real inner life moving comic inspired by people, ideas, nature, art history and pop culture.”

The Fine Art Painting and Collage of  Jon Todd

Jon Todd has developed a unique style based on a process of layering in his artwork. His many influences include tattoo graphics, street art, Asian, Northern European and Mexican cultures. By absorbing each of these influences into his art, Todd works with a number of different themes, processes and stylizations  in each piece.  His work represents timeless depictions of social issues and pop culture iconography, both past and present. While exploring themes of war, corruption, and internal struggle, Todd uses as many mediums as possible as a part of his creative process. These include painting on found objects, collaging various patterned paper using the technique of alcohol transfers, wood block cuts and screen printing. Todd regularly de-stresses his works using various chemicals, scratching tools and belt sanders. mixed media paintings resemble kaleidoscopic mosaics charged with iconography. These highly personal reflections, despite their vivacity, primarily deal with issues about misguided stigmas, psychosis and miscommunication. Facebook  Instagram

Norse 80m Sail-Assisted Exploration Yacht with Maximum Self-Sustainability and Minimal Environmental Impact

Oliver Stacey Design has teamed up with BMT Nigel Gee to present you Project Norse. It’s an 80m sail-assisted exploration yacht, a rugged trans-oceanic exploration vessel that is capable of voyaging to both Poles to cross any ocean taking its passengers to great destinations.

This collaboration resulted in fresh interpretation in the explorer vessel genre, this concept provides maximum self-sustainability, global range, with minimal environmental impact. It was inspired during Stacey’s visit to the Viking Voyagers exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, there were extensive range and endurance of the longboat, allowing visitors to experience the adventure spirit of the Vikings.

Norse explorer yacht has been designed based on the principle of a sail assisted hybrid propulsion system. So don’t get the wrong idea, this is not a sailing yacht, when hybrid becomes popular in yacht industry, the unmistakable truth is that sail assistance is the ultimate hybrid.

Featuring low-aspect sail plan, this yacht has three identical wing masts, combined with matched in-boom furling mainsails. This setup offers optimum reliability and flexibility with minimum crew needed during deployment, operation, and recovery. Sail-assist mode would probably be utilized for majority of the yacht’s passage making and under optimum conditions, power can be generated through the trailing shaft-lines to battery storage.

Due to its profile, Norse can access shallow water, a nice feature for a yacht of this size. It means that this yacht can access secluded anchorages, which is normally considered off-limit to a yacht of 80m.

Norse explorer yacht acts as an activity basecamp for a wide range of sea, land, and air based activities. There’s a gantry crane that can be used to launch and recover a wide range of vehicles, including a seaplane of up to 12m wingspan. This yacht has been designed and built to Ice Class 1d and complies with Category C requirements of the Polar Code. It means that this yacht can operate in light ice conditions, this capability allows for summer operation in Polar Regions.
