Smökers - Mark Reigelman

Smökers, consists of a miniature monochromatic wooden cabin, temporarily installed throughout the New York City. This cabin replaces the brightly colored plastic steam tubes that dot the New York landscape, allowing the byproduct of the city’s essential industrial process of providing power and heat to thousands of homes and businesses throughout the city, to be highlighted and subverted, all while referencing this process in the selection of using a house structure for the work.

Os Gemeos “Efêmero” for Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milano, Italy 2016

The two street artist brothers of the Os Gemeos traveled to Milan to paint the inaugural mural for the “Outside the Cube” project.

Taking advantage of the shape of the Pirelli HangarBicocca building where trains were built in the twentieth century, as well as referencing from the close proximity of railway lines running parallel to the site, the two brothers decided to paint one of their iconic yellow-skinned characters hanging from the back of a subway car. Entitled Efêmero, the almost finished multi-story high piece from the twins is their first major public work in Italy.

Candela Light Harvests Its Power from The Heat of The Flame

Designed by Francisco Gomez Paz, Candela offers a step forward to evolution of light. It features a good balance in design, technology, and respect for the environment. This light uses energy generated from fire and spreads warm, pleasant light in the room, in fact, the energy can also be used to charge your mobile devices.

Utilizing thermoelectric Seebeck effect, this light harvests energy from the heat of the flame. Powered by bioethanol, a clean and renewable fuel made from plants, Candle is able to produce its own electricity for cozy LED illumination as well as function as a charger.
