Portrait series by Matt Small

London-based artist Matthew Small (1975, UK) has graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2000. He captures portraits of people on the street and paints with both oil and water based pigment, the result is a brilliant mishmash of brazen, strong imagery.

Matt Small’s work has strong urban roots. By painting directly onto found pieces of metal, he brings physical elements of the city directly into his work. Matthew focuses on creating portrait painting at its best when the identity of the sitter is of lesser importance than the power and insight of the piece.

Jet Roderick - Street Photographer in Havana, Cuba

The amazing photography of Jet Roderick brings to life the streets of Havana, Cuba.  On his Tumblr Cuban Street Photography he writes:

Havana’s architecture is an integral part of its identity and the lives of the people that live there. This series of photos not only aims to capture this architecture but use it as a backdrop to illustrate scenes of everyday life in Havana…The architecture is the perfect backdrop to highlight the people of Havana.
