Monumental Mural Depicting the Evolution of Birds by Jane Kim

Artist Jane Kim the founder of Ink Dwell studio (whose mission is “to inspire people to love and protect the Earth one work of art at a time”), and a team of seven helpers, has just completed painting a 3,000-square-foot mural on the wall of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology Visitor Center in Ithaca, New York, that depicts the evolution of birds. The mural features winged representatives from each of the world’s 243 families of modern birds, painted to scale on a massive world map on the 70-foot by 40-foot wall.

This Wall of Birds (whose official title is “From So Simple a Beginning: Celebrating the Evolution and Diversity of Birds”) is a commission to mark the 100-year anniversary of the Cornell Lab, one of the world’s leading ornithological institutes founded in 1915, where Kim worked as an intern in its scientific illustration program in 2011.

Eli FlannaganAs an artist I strive to explore the relationships...

Eli Flannagan

As an artist I strive to explore the relationships that we as humans maintain with the world we inhabit whether socially, politically, and environmentally. Lately I have been particularly interested in the unfortunate, perpetual cycle of creation and destruction we are engaged in at the expense of the Earth. In order to explore these relationships I create large scale pen and ink drawings that utilize both natural and manmade elements that are arranged in a way that conveys a sense of interconnectivity.
I invite you to view more of my work on my website, EliFlannagan.com and/or my Instagram!

Thanks very much for the submission

Fashion Photography by Elizaveta Pordina

Russian photographer Elizaveta Pordina’s new work for Tush Magazine is impeccable. Some of clothes are entirely metal, and yet Pordina and her muse Avianna manage to make them look feminine and wearable. Elizaveta Pordina is currently working from Germany. You can find our previous post of her work HERE.
