Paintings by Martine Johanna

Martine Johanna is a Dutch contemporary artist. Her art is characterized by exploring the boundaries between illustration and contemporary figurative painting; there are familiar style elements to her work, mixed-in with more abstract elements and compositions. The work consists of imaginary characters with a stylistic nod to fashion and a great eye for detail. The mostly female figures are depicted in a surreal environment or are isolated in their thoughts. Both on canvas, wood or paper the works contain a complex intriguing feminine energy that makes you stop and enthrall you in their illusiveness.

Martine Johanna is part of the PRISMA COLLECTIVE since March 2014

Surreal Photography by Marcus Møller Bitsch

Marcus Møller Bitsch is a 23 year old self taught photographer from Denmark.

I began photographing 4 years ago, after trying different mediums though out my years. I took up photography after a knee injury, since I suddenly wasn’t capable of doing water-sports, and had therefor oceans time to pursue my newly profound passion.

At my last year of high school, I worked on and finished the project “The 365 days project”. As the name of the project indicates, the task of this challenge is to capture and process, a photo every single day within the span of the 365 days. If desired, you can check the project out at my flickr.

The Power of Amélie Hutt

Illustrator, art teacher and Belgian, Amélie Hutt has the power of fantasy to enthrall. The good and evil (and political) themes in her art are delightful. Read her webcomic, Angels’ Power, and follow her on Tumblr.

Paintings by John Wentz

John Wentz born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a contemporary painter whose process resides in an area between rigid technicality and honest expression. Working within the classical idiom of the human figure, his goal is to reduce and simplify the image to it’s core fundamentals: composition, color, and paint application. Wentz limits his palette to blue-greens and reds as a way to explore the emotive qualities and relationships of color while experimenting with cropping and vast negative space as the essence of composition. Paint application and brush strokes are broad and simplified as a means to connect and convey these ideas to the viewer in a way that only painting can. Follow him on Facebook.
