With a lot of creative imagination, ordinary circuit boards are being transformed into functional furniture. The ordinary circuit board are turning into beautiful pieces of patterns to adorn homes and galleries. These boards have been given a high tech twist by designers and are not mass produced. They are uniquely aesthetic with a very futuristic feel and they are a statement in design world. With their appealing look of polished metal or stone mounted on hardwood, it is no wonder these designs are here to stay. As technology develops and demands of consumer rapidly increases, more and more designers are looking for innovative designs to meet the demands of the insatiable technology obsessed consumers. There is an invasion of such products and designers know how to capitalize on the technology industry as gadgets become dominant features in modern life. There are some designs featured here for you to have a clearer idea about the appeal of these new innovations.

1. BRC's binary table

Made entirely out of vintage circuit boards of outdated electronics, this is designed by Benjamin Rollins Caldwell of BRC Designs. The base of the BRC's table has been completely based on computer towers. An assorted collage of motherboards, LCD screens, computer chips and hard disks which are held together by sheet metal screws makes up the surface. The hard disks can be rotated around and slid around for fun and you can even press the telephone keys and other buttons. The glass used for the table surface is from an old abandoned warehouse. It is a contemporary, almost playful furniture for the gizmo geeks. Calwell rightly surmised that his design is a mid century modern architectural philosophies with material inspired design innovation.

2. BRC's binary chairs

In addition to their table, BRC has also come up with chairs to match their table designs. They may appear bulky and monstrous but the extreme details in the designs do not go amiss. These chairs are made from pieces of old printers, computer chips, motherboards, internet wires, LCD screens, ribbon cables and hard drive disks. The binary chairs have cushion cover woven together with internet wires in random mosaic patterns which are extremely unique. The binary chair comes in three designs and are absolutely recycled. The antennae at the side of the chair can even be adjusted and raised. The designs are such that it can fit in your dining room and living room. These pieces of furniture looks interesting enough and can make for good conversation starters. These geeks may not be for everyone but they do deserve a place in homes and galleries. They are practical pieces of furniture which are more like art pieces.

Designer Doug Chase of Ogden turned old circuit boards and infused in them a new lease of form and life. The circuit board is incorporated with other materials like stainless steel, polyester resin and steel. It has a highly polished glazed look and appeal and this can easily fit into a space in your living room. The bench is truly a cool techno decor idea which is quite practical and pleasing to look at.

4. Circuit coffee table

Designed by Chris Harrison, the Circuit coffee Table is mounted on a plate like structure. Different sized circuits have been put together with precision without causing any overlapping at the edgy ends. This is a three dimensional design and provides a varied color theme throughout the circuit board design. On fourth of the board is made to stand out at a different height to create the three dimensional look. This is a trendy coffee table which was created accidentally out of a design meant for a Motherboard wall project. The designer creatively utilized the smallest motherboard walls by sliding it into a glass top which took about six hours of assembling time. It creates an illusion of looking down from the topmost to a network of cityscape design below.

5. Circuit board table

This circuit board table was created out of an old Intergraph 6000 computer along with other old random parts which even includes a 2800 baud modem. The inside table holds the computer boards and the outer table acts as the surface of the piece. The LED lights are wired along the perimeter and automatically goes on when it gets dark as they are light sensitive. This creation is more of a DIY design by Dmaloney who used his computer expertise to come up with a glowing futuristic utility.

The Mysterious Moeraki Boulders

The Moeraki Boulders are unusually large and spherical boulders lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the wave cut Otago coast of New Zealand between Moeraki and Hampden. The most striking aspect of the boulders is their unusually large size and highly spherical shape, with a distinct bimodal size distribution. Moeraki Boulders are concretions created by the cementation of the Paleocene mudstone of the Moeraki Formation, from which they have been exhumed by coastal erosion.
