Colorful Kelburn Castle

This is Kelburn castle in Scotland, 35 miles west of Glasgow.  It was built in the 13th century and has stood the test of time.  In 2007, experts told the owners that the concrete facings on a wall would have to be replaced to prevent damage to the structure and so the owner, knowing that the walls would have to come down and be refurbished anyway, invited graffiti artists to decorate the affected areas.

The refurbishment of the wall (and the end of the artwork) was scheduled to begin in 2009.
