The Peugeot 4002 concept was designed by Stefan Schulze, the winner of an amature design competion by Peugeot. The theme of the competition was to design a distant future Peugeot vehicle.

The entries for the competition had to have a clear Peugeot theme, recall a historic model, and be innovative. The inspiration for this wild concept was a 1936 Peugeot 406.
